The Prophecy

The Prophecy is the foretold end of the world. The Elders can see the prophecy, and through foresight, prepare the village to avert the dooms and disasters that will fall the village. The goal of dotAGE is to prevent the prophecy from coming to pass. The prophecy is split into various chapters and shows several events that will happen. The end of the prophecy always shows the Apocalyptic Event.

Domains

The prophecy scroll is split into four columns, each symbolising a different Domain; Sickness, Fear, Temperature, and Cataclysm. An event in a specific Domain will be related to that Domain, allowing the player a forewarning on what Domain to prepare to counter and protect against.

Omens

Omens are events relating to one of the four domains. The Elder will warn the player several days before the event that is coming, and during this time, the strength of the domain will become stronger. The village will need to produce protection to reduce the chances of a bad outcome from the Omen. It is possible to create 100% protection against an Omen. The strength of the Omens will get stronger as the game progresses, requiring more protection to counter.

Dooms

At the end of each chapter of the prophecy is the Doom event. This is like an Omen event but will be stronger than normal, usually requiring a more focused approach to protecting against. Passing the Doom Event will lead to the next chapter of the Prophecy.

The Apocalypse

The final chapter of the Prophecy is the Apocalyptic Event. This is the final challenge for the village. The Apocolypse will contain the harshest challenges from all Domains and will test the village to its limit. By surviving the Apocolypse, the game is won, and the Prophecy is defeated.
